In March 2021, Times Construction undertook the transformation of a mixed-use space into a state-of-the-art laboratory, tailored for modern scientific research. The project involved relocating existing facilities, constructing bespoke partitions, and designing a specialist reception area for tissue sample processing.

Critical upgrades included a high-performance ventilation system, suspended ceilings, durable new flooring, and optimized lab benches to enhance workflow and safety.

Completed in just 24 weeks, the result is a cutting-edge laboratory that exceeds current standards — a true reflection of our commitment to excellence, innovation, and precision project delivery.

Groundwork Repurposing

Westdown Camp
Tilshead Nr Salisbury SP3 4RS

Westdown Camp’s Building 51, located between Tilshead and Shrewton in Salisbury, required substantial external improvements to enhance usability and weather resilience for visitors and staff. The site presented the challenge of integrating new works seamlessly with existing structures and landscaped areas, while ensuring minimal disruption during the project.

We were tasked with preparing and upgrading the surrounding paved areas, installing a new windbreak shelter, improving drainage to prevent flooding, and supplying additional benches and umbrellas—all to a high standard, maintaining consistency with the site's existing aesthetic and ensuring a safe, accessible environment.

We managed all site preparations, excavated and disposed of old concrete pads, installed a compacted sub-base, and laid 93m² of matching paving slabs for a uniform finish. A new drainage system was fitted and connected to existing infrastructure to prevent surface water buildup. We installed a sheltered windbreak and six new benches with umbrellas to expand seating capacity. The completed works created a safe, attractive, and weather-resistant outdoor space, delivered exactly to specification and enhancing both the functionality and appearance of the site.

Our primary goal was to design and build a worthwhile and engaging space for the children, enhancing their hospital experience through sensory stimulation and comfort. The success of this project is a testament to our team’s adaptability and commitment to delivering specialized, high-quality environments.

We are proud to have completed the creation of a new sensory room within The Royal London Childrens Hospital. This project was executed to an exceptionally high standard despite a tight deadline. The complexity of the project stemmed from the incorporation of technologies unique to this audience.
